Kathmandu, May 15

Nepal Medical Association and Association of Private Health Institutions Nepal have increased the consultation fees of doctors from Monday.

Dr Sanjeev Tiwari, the association’s general secretary, informs the doctors’ consultation fees have been increased by 14 per cent from the previous fees, effective from Monday.

The association has increased the fees after two years.

Tiwari says the fees have been increased based on the Nepal Rastra Bank’s inflation data and the recommendation of the Fee Advisory Committee.

General Secretary Tiwari says the new consultation fees have been fixed from Rs 420 to Rs 940.

According to the new fees, MBBS and BDS doctors with five years of experience can charge Rs 420 while those with more than five years of experience can charge Rs 515.

Similarly, diploma-level doctors with five years of experience can charge Rs 590 as a consultation fee while those with more than five years experience can charge Rs 670.

Doctors who have completed MD, MS or MDS with five years of experience can charge Rs 750 while those with more than five years of experience can charge Rs 800.

Similarly, a fee of Rs 880 has been fixed for DM/MCH level doctors with five years of experience and Rs 940 for those with more than five years of experience.
